After threading our way through the icebergs, we landed at Hannah Point on Livingston Island. The island was full of Gentoo and Chinstrap penguins, as well as being home to two lonely Macaroni penguins.
In the afternoon we stopped at the active volcano of Deception Island. We landed at Whalers Bay, where after a walk around we stripped off to brave the freezing Antarctic sea, running in and then straight out and jumping into a hot pool, heated by the volcano.
The next day we landed at Cuverville Island, which was full of Gentoo penguins.
